Uninstalling the SecureMailMerge add-in for Outlook

Step-by-step instructions to remove the SecureMailMerge add-in from Outlook on Windows, Mac, and the web.

If you no longer need SecureMailMerge or want to reinstall it fresh, you can remove the add-in from Outlook in a few clicks. The steps are slightly different depending on your Outlook version.

Remove in Outlook on Windows (New Outlook and classic)

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to the Home ribbon and click Apps (or Get Add-ins on older versions).
  3. In the Office Add-ins window, open the My add-ins or Installed tab.
  4. Find SecureMailMerge, open the … (More actions) menu, and choose Remove. Confirm if prompted.

Tip: If you don’t see Apps on the ribbon, click the … (ellipsis) menu to reveal it.

Remove in Outlook on Mac

  1. Open Outlook for Mac.
  2. On the Home ribbon, click Apps (or Get Add-ins).
  3. In the Office Add-ins window, switch to My add-ins.
  4. Locate SecureMailMerge, open the … (More actions) menu, and click Remove. Confirm if prompted.

Remove in Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com)

There are two equivalent ways to get to the add-in management:

  • From the new message compose window: click Apps > Get add-ins.
  • Or via the gear icon: Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Customize actions > then Open add-ins.

Once the Office Add-ins window opens:

  1. Go to My add-ins.
  2. Find SecureMailMerge, open the … (More actions) menu, and select Remove. Confirm if prompted.

I can’t remove it (admin-managed)

If the add-in shows as Admin-managed or the Remove option is disabled, your Microsoft 365 administrator has deployed it to your mailbox. Please contact your IT administrator to remove or change its assignment.

Does uninstalling cancel my subscription?

No. Removing the add-in only uninstalls it from Outlook. If you have a paid plan and want to stop billing, see How to cancel your SecureMailMerge subscription.
